Episode 5 of Valeria is certainly the most compelling installment of the series thus far. Val arises and packs her belongings, leaving a letter for Adri before she discreetly departs and goes to Valencia to celebrate her mother's birthday.


However, her parents reprimand her for not spending as much time with Rebe. Val takes refuge in her bedroom, giving her a moment to process what happened at Lola's gathering and to clear her thoughts.



The parallels to Sex and the City have been evident from the start of the show, but in episode 5 we get more insight into Valeria's character. This is an important installment, as we start to understand Val more and it gives the show its own unique identity rather than being a Spanish imitation.



Despite the fact that Adri is attempting to repair her relationship, the concept of a married woman having a secret affair is hard to accept. Nevertheless, we should persist in watching to see how this progresses. One can hope this episode will be a sign of better things to come for the show.
